The 1960s was a significant decade for the group. When the Poetry Circle ceased to function in the early 1960s, the drama group continued under a new name - The Phoenix Players - rising from the ashes of the old Poetry Circle. The Phoenix Players performed numerous productions during the 1960s at The Arts Centre, Swindon.
